Your skin is under constant attack — the sun, air pollution, stress, makeup and even lack of sleep each take their toll on your once-flawless face. Over time, your pores become clogged and enlarged, scars form where acne appeared and brown spots emerge from exposure to ultraviolet rays.
If you’ve found yourself using more and more makeup to hide these flaws and that the confidence you had about your appearance has faded into insecurity, it’s time to do something about it.
Thankfully, a new technology has emerged that creates healthy, youthful looking skin without harmful, abrasive procedures that were once the only options for skin rejuvenation. FRAXEL® is a revolutionary laser treatment that’s safe, quick and effective. It works by stimulating the body’s natural production of new collagen and skin cells by creating microscopic “wounds” beneath the surface of the skin. In essence, it causes your skin to renew itself — and in the process, shed its damaged cells.
Your skin begins to heal immediately so you can resume your normal daily functions as quickly as you want. Your pores will reduce in size, those age spots will disappear and the skin around your eyes will look years younger.
FRAXEL® has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat:
- Scarring from acne
- Brown spots due to aging
- Melasma (known as “the mask of pregnancy”)
- Wrinkles surrounding the eyes
FRAXEL® can also be used on your neck and hands.

Procedure Details:
Initial Consultation
In your initial consultation, one of Dr. Moore’s qualified and skillfully trained Registered Nurses will evaluate your health, discuss your medical history and assess the contours of your face and your neck and hands if requested. They will then review your goals and make recommendations based on their evaluation. The techniques used in FRAXEL® Laser Treatment will be described in detail and informational materials will be provided. Be sure to notify them of any medicine you are taking and if you have any allergies, active skin issues or illnesses that affect your nerves and muscles.
What to Expect
The procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis. A topical anesthetic ointment will be applied to the treatment area approximately 60 minutes prior to treatment to aid with any discomfort you may experience. The procedure time varies depending on the area being treated – average treatment time is 30-45 minutes.
Post-Procedure
After the procedure, you are free to continue with your normal activities. You may experience some redness and tenderness on the treated areas. Other possible side effects include pain, swelling and redness.
The New You!
You will love the clean and clear appearance of your new skin. You might even venture out of the house without makeup!
Insurance
Most health insurance plans do not cover cosmetic procedures. In some instances, if you attempt to secure insurance reimbursement for cosmetic procedures, your insurance company may view it as fraud.
Costs
Costs depend on your individual goals and needs.
